Product Care

Our tags and labels have been carefully designed by our technical department to help with product care, washing, drying and ironing. Taking care of a garment means extending its life, ensuring that it can pass from generation to generation, respecting the principle that longevity is the first form of sustainability.

WOOL CARE: taking care of your wool garment
THE WASHING
Wool garments should preferably be hand-washed in cold water. If you choose the washing machine, make sure to select the ‘wool’ program at a maximum temperature of 30 degrees without spinning. In both cases, turn the garment inside out before washing to avoid pilling, i.e. the formation of little “balls” due to rubbing and the consequent exit of the shorter fibres.
THE DRYING
Do not wring wool garments. Carefully flat dry wool sweaters placing the wool garment on a towel. Always dry wool knitwear out of direct sunlight. Line drying or drying on hangers can cause knitted garments to stretch due to the weight of the moisture contained by the garment, with the result that the garment grows in length and loses its shape.
THE IRONING
Wool should be ironed only once completely dry. It would be advisable to always avoid contact of the iron with the fabric, using only steam. If this is not possible, place a cloth between the iron and the garment so as to obtain an ironing effect without the direct contact with the plate.
PILLING
Pilling is a direct result of friction. It naturally occurs with movement, so the more you wear an item, the more likely it is to pill. Pilling can be avoided by simple gestures. You could simply wash the garment, wool loves water! Sheep live in difficult conditions, outdoor and often under the rain. Getting wet the fibres react by loosening while, when they dry, they return to their original state. Finally, you can eliminate pilling with a special brush, or even by hand.
STAIN REMOVAL
Who has never dealt with stains? It is better to act quickly, while the stain is still fresh. With a cloth dampened in cold water (better if sparkling) and Marseille soap, gently dab the stain, placing a towel under the garment. Leave to act and then rinse.

DOWN CARE: how to wash your down jacket
Since down jackets often have details in fabric or other materials, it is essential to always follow the washing instructions on the garment. The following are general instructions for a garment that hasn’t any particular fur inserts, workmanship or details:
THE WASHING:
Remove any items from the pockets, remove any detachable pieces, close all zips and place the garment inside out. Put the garment in the washing machine and add a little mild detergent, set the washing temperature to max 30° (always follow the instructions on the inside label)
THE DRYING:
TUMBLE DRYER: Once finished, if your tumble dryer has the appropriate cycle put the jacket in the dryer on a low heat cycle. If you want your garments to be completely dry, it may take a few cycles. Adding a couple of balls will help restore the softness of the duvet (buy balls designed for this purpose)
NORMAL DRYING: if your tumble dryer does not provide a suitable cycle or you do not have a tumble dryer, put the garment horizontally, not in direct contact with heat sources
As the garment is drying, shake it occasionally to break up any lumps that are forming. The longer the duvet dries, the easier it will be to remove the lumps and re-inflate it.
