Il Gufo & IUAD Academy

Il Gufo

A new collaboration between IUAD Academy Milan and Il Gufo,

initiated at the end of 2023, has been developing in recent months.

The brand presented a challenge to second-year Fashion Design students,

asking them to create a capsule collection of five looks inspired

by the mood boards of the Spring/Summer 2025 collection.

To fully understand the world of Il Gufo, some students,

accompanied by their teachers, visited the company.

They immersed themselves in an environment characterized by

extensive experience, collaboration, a love for well-crafted

items, and meticulous attention to detail.

Subsequently, other students were welcomed at Il Gufo’s showroom in Milan,

where they learned how a collection is presented and sold to

buyers from around the world.

This project brings us great satisfaction.

We deeply believe in the necessity of cross-pollination between

the corporate world and the educational journey of young

people entering our industry, which is incredibly complex today.

Unexpected and interesting inputs have emerged. These are starting points

to provide students with both gratification and crucial

information to be successful in an increasingly demanding market.

The projects presented are unique expressions of great creativity and diverse individuality.

It wasn’t easy to choose, but the alignment with the practicality

typical of children’s fashion instinctively guided us towards a

very rational selection,” commented Alessandra Chiavelli, CEO of Il Gufo.

Out of all the projects presented, five were selected

for their uncommon technical skills, strong adherence to the brand’s DNA,

or conversely, for their innovative and alternative thinking.

The winner, Emi Sutto, stood out for her ability to synthesize

creative thinking into a highly innovative proposal that perfectly

aligns with the market and the brand’s spirit.

Her most significant look, designed for children,

will be produced and included in the next SS25 collection.

Emi will also be welcomed at the company headquarters

for an internship in the style office.

In addition to her project, other works received special mentions

for showcasing particular talents in key areas such as baby and layette.

The collaboration with Il Gufo fully embodies IUAD Academy’s working method

– learning by doing – as our students had the opportunity to learn

the complex dynamics of working in a company and compete for the realization

of their own creative project, learning from professionals and

working alongside them throughout all stages of this fruitful experience.”
